Timeline

At 7:52 in the sermon recording a reference is made to Eddie Obeid. Eddie Obeid is a former Australian politician who served as a member of the New South Wales Legislative Council between 1991 and 2011. In 2013 the DPP announced that it would be prosecuting Obeid for misconduct in public office and a criminal trial in the Supreme Court of New South Wales began in February 2016. Obeid pleaded not guilty; however, a jury found Obeid guilty of misconduct in public office. He is now serving a five-year jail sentence. Source: Wikipedia

Term 2, 2017 – Finance Project

Two weeks ago we launched our 2017 Finance Project, and the best way for you to hear about this is to watch this video. (External link to video)

We are very excited about this plan. Apart from what the video says, we think it’s a good strategy because it addresses some of the feedback that you all gave via the National Church Life Survey (which you filled in last year).

I hope you’ll be praying about supporting it, and if you want to take part in supporting it’s easy – if you are used to contributing electronically you can transfer an amount to the general account and write “PROJECT” in the description field. If you give via the baskets in church, you can write “PROJECT” on an envelope and give via the baskets. We are already about 25% of the way there, so the campaign is under well way. We hope the vision shared in the video might encourage you about what our church values and what we are seeking to grow in.
