Term 2, 2017 – Finance Project

Jun 5, 2017   //   by Graeme Howells   //   News

Two weeks ago we launched our 2017 Finance Project, and the best way for you to hear about this is to watch this video. (External link to video)

We are very excited about this plan. Apart from what the video says, we think it’s a good strategy because it addresses some of the feedback that you all gave via the National Church Life Survey (which you filled in last year).

I hope you’ll be praying about supporting it, and if you want to take part in supporting it’s easy – if you are used to contributing electronically you can transfer an amount to the general account and write “PROJECT” in the description field. If you give via the baskets in church, you can write “PROJECT” on an envelope and give via the baskets. We are already about 25% of the way there, so the campaign is under well way. We hope the vision shared in the video might encourage you about what our church values and what we are seeking to grow in.

Senior Minister's Report to AGM

Mar 12, 2017   //   by Admin   //   News

On Sunday March 12 our Church had our AGM. It’s important for every member to know what happens at the Church AGM so that you can pray for our church, and so that you can take up the opportunities raised at the AGM to serve in the growth of our church. Here is the link so you can read the full report presented by Graeme at the AGM

We elected Wardens for 2017. Thank you Ken Holder, Corey Matthews and Dave Staker for being willing to serve us in this way.

We elected a Parish Council. Thank you Andrew Burton, Justin Coleman, Yvonne Kinch, Marcus Swansborough, Jono Lee and Elissa Coleman for being willing to lead and serve in this ministry. If you have suggestions for how our church can grow in faithfulness and service, and how you might be willing to serve, please talk with any of these members of Parish Council.

Peter Farmer will represent our church at Synod; Tammy Holder will serve us by continuing to be our Safe Ministry Representative.  (Thank you, Peter and Tammy)

The Full Audited Financial Statements were presented and copies are available at church. The quick summary is that our members were wonderfully generous in 2016, that we finished the year only $1470 behind budget (so our church gave 99% of what was required to pay for church expenses last year!) This is a very good result last year, and we are very thankful to God who provides through your generosity.

Our Mission week is coming in 2 weeks, which will incur a number of outreach resource expenses. Our giving Year to date is approx. $5,000 behind budget. Can we please commend to you the ministry of giving to our church’s outreach at this time. We plan to visit every home in Rouse Hill with brochures about our church and Easter invitations during the mission week – resourcing this will cost approx. $2500, plus feeding the mission team. (Account details: BSB: 032 111  Account No. 249382)  Please pray that this mission outreach is effective and please pray about joining the team for this door-knocking and visitation campaign during March 26 – April 2.

Prayer for the Persecuted Church

Feb 19, 2017   //   by Admin   //   News

Father God – we come before you acknowledging your sovereignty and goodness and bring before you our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ around the world.

We thank you that they are eternally secure in you because of their trust in the redeeming work of our Lord Jesus.

We pray that you would grant physical protection and deliverance to all those believers suffering around the world and instil in us an urgent and fervent desire to pray for them.

Please also help their lives to reflect the sufficiency of you Grace and that they will know your power is perfected in their weakness.

In the midst of their suffering Lord please give them the courage to endure; the will to choose you even in the face of Ill-treatment and the desire to cling to you and not turn back; in this we pray you would give them a spirit of rejoicing as they share in your sufferings so that they will rejoice all the more when they see Christ revealed in your perfecting of them in you.

We pray fervently Heavenly Father, that given the grave circumstances of many who are living out their faith under persecution, that you would anchor them in you in a way that causes them to desire and love you more than life itself and that because of this they will be able to love those who persecute them and that they will rejoice that they are considered worthy to suffer for your name.

Father, we serve the great I AM the Alpha and Omega; the beginning and the end; the creator, sustainer and redeemer of all. It is with this unshakable confidence that we bring these heartfelt prayers to you knowing that you hear and answer prayer according to your good and perfect will and purpose. We pray all this in the name of your beloved Son and our saviour Jesus. Amen

Financial Update

Nov 20, 2016   //   by Graeme Howells   //   News

An Important Finance Update from the Wardens

God has been wonderfully generous towards us!

Jesus, though he was rich, became poor, giving up all in his sacrifice for us, that we might gain his spiritual riches.

God has been wonderfully generous to us in the rich way he has blessed so many of us with financial resources.
Many of our congregation very generously support the work of our church through financial giving, and many do it by electronic giving – in fact more than 75% of our church offertory comes in as electronic giving.

Which is why this notice is so important.

As of early next year our church bank account details need to change.

This is due to our current financial institution winding up the kind of accounts it offers, meaning that we have had to open new accounts with a different bank. We need all of our regular, generous, electronic givers to change the account details you currently have listed for our church with your electronic banking. As you know we have 3 separate accounts into which members make contributions – they are our general offertory account, our missions account and our building loan account.

From now on our new account numbers are as follows:

General Offeratory: BSB 032 111 Account No 249382
Mission Giving: BSB 032 111 Account No 249390
Building Fund: BSB 032 111 Account No 249403

We will be reminding you again of these account number changes over the coming weeks.

Whilst you are updating your electronic banking details, it could be a good time to reconsider how much you are able to give, If through the year you have experienced an increase in your financial position, you might consider increasing your giving to church as you set up a new electronic transfer. If you have never before considered giving electronically, or indeed if you have never considered before expressing your thankfulness to God by supporting gospel ministry, then now could be an excellent time to start a new habit.

If you wish to listen to the financial update as spoken at church on Sunday morning, please press the play button below.

2 Corinthians 9:7 “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

Our Gospel Focused Giving page is another helpful resource to learn about giving at our church, and we encourage you to visit this page.
